| Solicitude I did not learn to live Till I began to die, Until I found myself Entwined by brown vines Webbed mid forests Of distrust, seeded With a sparkling sun's Effervescent spew, Warming my weariness, And sanctioned strength To seek relief From a mighty God Whose blessings Cut away the bonds That left me weak, Yet perceptible To view the blessings Round me; That in my haste To live, I was blind to life, And lived not at all, That in a sea of wonder, I saw no golden gifts Of solicitude, Till now.
